What is Linux ?



Linux is an operating system developed from a kernel level written by Linus. Learning Linux and Using Linux is easy as it is an operating system which is more compatible than the competitive operating system from Microsoft starting from MS-DOS. Nowadays most of the companies prefer having Linux installed machines I mean personal computers, desktops and laptops too. The reason behind the season of Linux is the open source.

By the meaning of open source that the entire source code will be available free license free without charging money to download. In such a way Linux source code is available free in the internet and anyone can download and install in their PC. Also one another advantage is one can very well modify the source code according to their convention if they know how to modify the source code and clear knowledge about their end application.

Why Linux Popular ?



It is a ever raised question of people who were ought to use Linux operating system and people who are using such machines can understand the difference. Even though many commercial operating system softwares are available at attractive prices with advanced graphical applications, many people prefer Linux. There are many reasons behind this love for Linux. Two such things were already explained deeply above.
One can very well gather knowledge by installing Linux and it is highly recommended to use the UNIX systems on Linux. If you are well versed in UNIX system commands you can very well work in Linux and play with Linux

How to Open Microsoft (MS) Applications In Linux ?



OK. Now successfully Linux installed in a PC. But in an e-mail or by some other cause you are in a need to work in Microsoft based applications like Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point Presentation etc. what will you ?
Don’t think that you have chosen a wrong OS!! You can install the OPEN OFFICE software which will allow you to work on the MS applications and also you can create a new application as like MS applications. Problem Solved.. Is not it??
